UMass Department of Theater is proud to remount our production of Jackie Sibblies Drury's powerful play, We Are Proud to Present a Presentation About the Herero of Namibia, Formerly Known as South West Africa, From the German Sudwestafrika, Between the Years 1884-1915.

Both humorous and haunting, Jackie Sibblies Drury's powerful play centers around a group of actors attempting to make a piece of theater about the little-known first genocide of the 21st century. As the actors wrestle with issues of representation, they encounter their own limits and biases and discover that the play hits very close to home.

What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?

To get to Room 204:

As you face the glass lobby of the Fine Arts Center, walk to the far left of the building. Walk all the way to the side until you see the CURTAIN THEATER entrance. When you enter, you will be in the 'purple lobby.' Go to your left up the short staircase. To the right of the seating area is a staircase. Go to the second floor and Studio 204 is the big room on the left.

To park at UMass:

Parking is free after 5pm in the metered spots on Hagis Mall and also in Parking Lot 71, which is the first parking lot to the right after Hagis Mall if you are driving west. There is also parking in the Visitor Center lot across the road from Hagis Mall.
